PADI Full Face Mask and PSA Self Sufficiency Divers Course Learn-in-Asia are proud to present 2 VERY
distinctive dive courses that allow us to be unique once again. The The Self Sufficiency Diver Course: "Be a dependable dive buddy, not a dependant diver!"... The self sufficiency Diver course certainly teaches you the above and much more. It is not design to teach you to be cavalier about diving or dive in conditions unknown alone but to be safe if and when you are "in the realms" solo. This self-sufficiency diver course is the industry's first diver program of it's knid. Many
Divemasters and Instructors find themselves in "solo-diving"
situations from time to
time collecting a dropped item, setting out a descent line or after being called
upon to free an anchor - any thing can
happen. The skills learned in the self
sufficiency diver course
could
well one day get them out of trouble, even save their lives.
Also,
with experience divers tend to become more focused on personal dive goals and
unless buddy teams are well matched the buddy system becomes a burden rather
than a complimentary activity. The evolution of modern dive equipment
allows for sufficient safeguards for redundancy to effectively negate any real
need for a dive partner - if trained properly. The
objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper
procedures for diving solo. The course focuses on self sufficiency, gear
redundancy and self rescue and meets the needs of underwater photographers and
others involved in diving without immediate contact to a buddy. You might begin
with a buddy but that does not mean that he'll be there if you need him! The 2 day course concentrates
on dive planning and equipment rig to ensure safe diving practices for the
self-sufficiency diver plus the use of the waiver forms necessary when carrying out solo diving
on your vacation. The open water dives include one accompanied training dive
including an ‘out of air’ ascent made on the solo divers type II redundant
air supply from as deep as 30m, plus one observed solo dive. Successful responsible candidates are awarded the self-sufficiency divers certification. The Full-Face Mask Diving Course - (Diver to diver and diver to surface communications): (PADI and PSA) Used
as common practice by the military, safety divers and commercial divers
underwater communication devices The AGA Divator mask manufactured by Inperspiro as used in the FFM course. This mask is the same item of equipment used by the military / fire / police / search & rescue teams world wide, and features built in 2 way single sideband radio communication gear operated by a simple ‘push to talk’ button located on the front of the mouthpiece. Communication with both another diver and the surface can be established. The course is 2 days in length and the successful student will receive the Full Face Mask diver certification. The Full Face Mask - The AVA Divator:
The
mask is available with 2 types of regulator, an ordinary demand regulator, or a
'positive pressure' regulator, which keep a positive pressure inside the mask,
this add an extra safety feature while diving in contaminated or dirty water. The
positive pressure reduces the risk of in leakage and the positive pressure in
the mask is maintained irrespective of the diver's momentary air consumption.
But if water should still have penetrated, the mask is easily drained by pushing
the purge button of the breathing valve. The valve is designed to give a slight
positive pressure of approximately 200 Pa (20 mm water column) in the mask. The
positive pressure (safety pressure) is turned on automatically when the user
takes his/her first breath in the mask. This ensures that there is no way of
forgetting to turn on the positive pressure or that it could become accidentally
turned off.
