Small Class Sizes! Mermaid's
Career Development Center might have more dive students. We also have MANY
more dive instructors! This instantly gives you more friends
and a wider choice of instructors / courses. Look at the birthday night out in the picture here - All of these guys and gals came here to the scuba diving internship program independently. Prior to coming here they did not know each other. Having more students means that you will have many more buddies, friendly nights out and indeed study partners - this does not affect the training. With more students, we just have more boats, instructors, classrooms and indeed much more fun! Before signing up for any internship, don’t forget to make sure that the Course Directors are in-house members of the dive center and not hired only for the duration of the IDC program. Does the Dive Center you on considering offer 1:1 tuition with a PADI Course Director on request at no additional charge. What about other local internships? Mermaid’s Learn-In-Asia are flattered to have many friendly imitators of our program. Of course there are other excellent diver internship programs you can choose from. Please do make sure that you know all the facts before making your educated choice. Some of these programs, while representing themselves as internships, really train no more then a handful of instructors each year. Although they will sell themselves with "personal courses" it does not escape the fact that they have very little experience in the area of certifying instructors and instructor training (no matter what they tell you:-).
