Khao Lak Beach
- Jump point to the Similans
Khao Lak or Kao Lak, Phang Nga province in
Thailand - no matter how you spell or pronounce it you'll want to visit it. Kao
Lak is in the Andaman
Sea
on the west coast of Thailand, just 80 Kilometers
North from
Phuket International Airport.
There are many
beaches on the strip all the way from Phuket to Takuapa such as Thai Muang
Beach, Bangnieng
Beach, Khao Lak
Beach
and Bangsak
Beach
. Khao Lak beach is the most popular beach for many
tourists because the beach is so clean and long with golden sand where most of
the resorts are located. It is not over developed. Having only really been a
known destination for the last 4 - 5 years it's an opening secret but with good
care being taken to hold back the "boom" that many other areas of
Thailand have both prospered and suffered from.
Khao Lak
Beach is well known for tourists who love to stay in a
remotely area because the beach is very quiet and no bars or entertainment close
to the beach. Tourists can also get to dive famous Similan and
Surin
Islands by chartered boats leave from Thap Lamu Pier in Thai
Muang District (30 minutes from Khao Lak beach) and take about 3 hours to reach
the Similans islands...hence the reason for this page and these details - I would now
like to offer my services from Kao Lak to the Similan and the Surin islands on
both day trips and also over night.

conduit to allow for scuba diving Similans in one day that a short while ago would have been
