From open water diver to open water scuba instructor in approximately 6 months (experience dependant). The internships include all the PADI dive courses required, PADI Course Fees, unlimited scuba dives, your own full set of BRAND NEW professional scuba dive equipment and lodgings (accommodation) for 6 months in one of the most exciting cities in the world - Pattaya, (Jomtien) Thailand - for only 354,800 Thai baht (exchange rate) - (Please see the blue boxes below for credits for diving or equipment owned).

PADI have gone the extra mile to allow non-divers to begin studying diving prior to entry to a scuba dive center. The PADI Online Open Water Course is looking to be very popular indeed.

For the non-divers you can simply study dive academics on the net. This allows you to be prepared and ready to get in the water directly on arrival here in Thailand.

What do I do now? – What will your next step be after successfully completing the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) and becoming a fully qualified PADI Professional Dive Instructor? With Mermaids "MSDT Starter Package", “Diving Life MSDT Internship” and “Diving Life IDC Staff” programs you can start teaching and working right after the IDC, AND get some valuable experience to put on your diving CV, making you dive employable by many. The internship will set you ready for any dive industry employer. Please find two intern packages below that serve exactly the purpose as described for your diving career.

The “Diving Life” Specialty Instructor (MSDT Starter) Package – PADI Dive Instructors enrolling in this option will receive a CD-ROM including 23 PADI Specialty Instructor outlines. Instructors will present lectures to a PADI Specialty Instructor Trainer and field questions pertaining to those Specialties. The course is designed to prepare you to teach at least 5 PADI Specialty Courses of your choice (extra specialty ratings may be available on request for a small fee).

Some goals you will accomplish:

• Present Specialty Course lectures to a PADI Course Director (Specialty IT), and discuss standards and marketing for 5 PADI Specialty Diver Courses.

• Achieve 5 PADI Specialty Instructor ratings of your choice.

Cost: 30,000 Thai baht - exchange rate - (in addition to any Mermaid’s IDC Package Fee)

Includes: PADI Fees for 5 Specialty Instructor Courses and 5 Specialty Instructor Course Outlines.

The “Diving Life” MSDT Internship – PADI Scuba Instructors enrolling in this option will be taken on as part of the Mermaids staff for a period of 2 months after the IE and post-IE courses have been completed. During this time you will have access to all the benefits of a member of Mermaid's instructor team. Some goals you will be able to accomplish:

• Record at least 25 PADI teaching certifications.

• Achieve 5 PADI Specialty Instructor ratings of your choice.

• MSDT or Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification in FULL.

• 100++ dives for experience and pleasure (un-limited).

• Add 2 month’s diving work experience at a PADI Five Star CDC to your CV.

       2 month TOTAL - Cost: 84,800 Thai baht -  exchange rate - (in addition to any Mermaids IDC Package Fee). 

Includes: 2 month lodgings, 5 PADI Specialty Instructor Outlines and ALL PADI Fees. 

The “Diving Life” IDC Staff Internship / Traineeship. PADI Instructors enrolling in this program will be taken on as part of the Mermaids Diving Instructor Staff for a period of 3 months after the IE and post-IE dive courses have been completed.  During this time you will have access to all the benefits of a member of Mermaids dive instructor team. Some goals you will be able to accomplish:

• Record at least 25 PADI Certifications.

• Achieve 5 PADI Specialty Instructor ratings of your choice.

• Achieve the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.

• Achieve the PADI IDC Staff rating.

• 150++ dives for experience and pleasure (un-limited).

• Add 3 month’s scuba work experience at a PADI Five Star CDC to your diving CV.

3 months TOTAL - Cost: 127,300 Thai baht -  exchange rate - (in addition to any Mermaids IDC package fee). (Cost for Staff alone over 1 month is 66,500 Thai baht (exchange rate)).

Includes: 3 months lodgings, 5 PADI Specialty Instructor Outlines, PADI C/W and O/W Evaluation Slates and all PADI Fees for Specialties, MSDT and IDC Staff ratings.

Notes:

• Scuba Internship Fees must be paid in full before the start of the PADI IDC.

• Diver Interns are working on a non-salaried, dive work for experience, basis ONLY.
