Chulabhorn Research Institute Divers ...

Chulabhorn Research Institute is a biomedical and chemistry research institute in Bangkok, Thailand. Initiated by Princess Chulabhorn in 1987, the institute was established as an independent agency funded by the Thai government.

Today, the institute operates 9 laboratories in biochemistry, biotechnology, medicinal chemistry, chemical carcinogenesis, environmental toxicology, immunology, natural products, organic synthesis and pharmacology. Besides research, the institute also offers various trainings as well as master's and doctoral degree programs in Environmental Toxicology, Technology and Management.

In addition to the existing units and programs, the Chulabhorn Cancer Center and Chulabhorn Graduate School were opened in 2007.

Mermaids CDC likes to have friends and spread the word of diving where possible. Mermaids teamed with PADI to provide diver training for some of the staff and students of the facility. PADI provide the scuba dive training materials and Mermaids Dive provide the scuba training and logistics with boats and equipment as well as dive instruction.

The dive students took different courses from PADI Open Water and PADI Advanced course and a range of PADI Specialty Diver courses.

Saturday 25th April Peter Waagensen (Director of Mermaids Dive Career Development Center) and Hans Ulrich (head of PADI South East Asia) visited the Chulabhorn Institute and their scuba diving certification ceremony.
