2 Platinum PADI Course Directors - FULL TIME at Mermaids
Mermaids PADI Career Development Center, Pattaya, Thailand have achieved a very strong achievement in the professional dive training industry. In order for a scuba diving center to operate IDCs (Diving Instructor Development Courses) the dive center is required to have a PADI Course Director. There are many Instructor Development Centers globally with a PADI Course Director. Less common is to find a Scuba Dive Center with 2 PADI CDs. Even less common still is to find a diving center with 2 PADI Course Directors that work at the dive center full time. The benefit of this is that you get to converse with and pick the brains of PADI's highest achieved members on a daily basis and not just during your IDC. Mermaids not only have 2 PADI Course Directors that work at Mermaids CDC daily but both are Platinum PADI Course Directors. 'Platinum' status is awarded as the highest possible award from PADI for excellence in the area of dive instructor training. To have one Platinum CD on staff is a great achievement for an IDC dive center. To have 2 is of course better. At the time of writing it is believed that there are less than 4 dive centers globally with 2 Platinum CDs on full time dive staff.
